Ce site (http://www.rinoceros.org/) constitue une archive des articles publiés avant 2008 qui n'ont pas été transférés.

Le projet rinoceros n’a pas disparu, il continue de vivre pour valoriser les points de vue des acteurs associatifs dans le monde dans le site Ritimo.

Progressio

Progressio is an international charity working to tackle poverty and injustice in developing countries. This NGO works for sustainable development for communities and people in developing countries.

Progressio argues for rational use and local management of natural resources to improve the lives of poor urban and rural communities. This includes promoting sustainable cultivation practices and resource management techniques, while improving productivity, income and living conditions in small farming communities.

Progressio advocacy work is focused on three themes :

  • civil society participation
  • HIV and AIDS
  • sustainable environment

Social Watch

Social Watch is an international network informed by national citizens’ groups aiming at following up the fulfilment of internationally agreed commitments on poverty eradication and equality. These national groups report, through the national Social Watch report, on the progress - or regression - towards these commitments and goals.

The Social Watch groups, organized on an ad hoc basis, have a focal point in each country that is responsible for promoting the initiative ; submitting a national report for the yearly publication ; undertaking lobbying initiatives before the national authorities to hold them accountable for the policies in place regarding the agreed commitments ; promoting a dialogue about the national social development priorities and developing an active inclusive strategy to bring other groups into the national group. The international secretariat of Social Watch is hosted by the Third World Institute in Montevideo, Uruguay.

The Berne Declaration (DB)

The Berne Declaration is a Swiss non-governmental organization with 19’000 members. Through research, public eduaction and advocacy work, it has promoted more equitable, sustainable and democratic North-South relations since 1968.

The Berne Declaration monitors the role of Swiss corporations, banks, and government agencies. It addresses the problems of unequal international trade and financial relations, unsustainable consumption patterns and cultural prejudices. It calls on all Swiss actors - the private sector and the state, citizens and consumers - to assume their responsibilities in resolving these problems.
