Be!Sharp (Built Environment, Sustainable Habitat and ARchitecture PArtnership)

Be!Sharp is a platform that aims to enable the creation and development of a common space that will allow mobility and pooling of competencies and know-how between the academic, the professional and the entrepreneurial sectors, between Europe and India, in the field of sustainable built environment.

The main activities of the programme are :

  • an Euro-Indian internship and exchange programme for young professionals
  • a resource centre which provides online and offline information
  • a media & communication unit that documents on-going projects and produce short films
  • a networking for universities and associations, professionals, organisations, etc.

Corporate Europe Observatory (CEO)

CEO is an Amsterdam-based research and campaign group targeting the threats to democracy, equity, social justice and the environment posed by the economic and political power of corporations and their lobby groups.
The organisation has published Europe Inc., a comprehensive overview of the systematic ways in which transnational corporations — working through lobby groups — have succeeded in influencing a wide range of policies of the EU and other international institutions, such as the OECD, WTO and the United Nations.

European Fair Trade Association (EFTA)

EFTA was established in 1990. It is a network of 11 Fair Trade organisations in nine European countries which import Fair Trade products from some 400 economically disadvantaged producer groups in Africa, Asia and Latin America. EFTA’s members are based in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

The ETUC was set up in 1973 to promote the interests of working people at European level and to represent them in the EU institutions. t present, the ETUC has in membership 76 National Trade Union Confederations from 34 European countries, as well as 11 European industry federations, making a total of 60 million members, plus observer organisations in Macedonia and Serbia.

Seattle to Brussels Network (S2B)

S2B was formed in 1999 and is a pan-European network which campaigns to promote a sustainable, socially and democratically accountable system of trade, particularly within the EU. The network is involved in coordinating events such as The General Council of People at Geneva in October 2005.



Statewatch aims at monitoring the state and civil liberties in the European Union. It is a non-profit-making voluntary group founded in 1991. It is comprised of lawyers, academics, journalists, researchers and community activists. Its European network of contributors is drawn from 14 countries. Statewatch encourages the publication of investigative journalism and critical research in Europe the fields of the state, justice and home affairs, civil liberties, accountability and openness.
