BabelMed

Babelmed’s association is a non profit organisation that was created in Rome in April 2001. Its main objective is to promote cultural exchanges in the Mediterranean and to circulate informations and ideas present around this common sea. The name babelmed refers to the Mediterranean and its cultural diversity (Babel), while bab, which means the door in Arabic, wants to leave the impression of an open door.

The website wants to be a link between actors, events and cultural production in the Mediterranean. The site generates its own contents thanks to its Central Editorial Staff and its network of journalists in the Mediterranean selected for their independence and knowledge of cultural issues.

Bitterlemons

Bitterlemons.org is a website that presents Israeli and Palestinian viewpoints on prominent issues of concern. It focuses on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and peace process. It is produced, edited and partially written by Ghassan Khatib, a Palestinian, and Yossi Alpher, an Israeli. Its goal is to contribute to mutual understanding through the open exchange of ideas. Bitterlemons.org aspires to impact the way Palestinians, Israelis and others worldwide think about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Bitterlemons.org maintains complete organizational and institutional symmetry between its Palestinian and Israeli components. Each edition addresses a specific issue of controversy. Articles by Alpher and Khatib are accompanied by additional articles by, or interviews with, a prominent Israeli and a prominent Palestinian. No intelligent and articulate views are considered taboo.
